Writing
Regan Hicks
One of my biggest hobbies growing up was writing. I was always writing something - musicals, screenplays, songs, novels...you name it! Although most of those scripts written by ten year old me have since been scratched, my love of writing still remains. Through the years, I took writing classes, collaborated with talented creators, honed my skills, and now I am fortunate enough to be able to call myself a professional writer. I have had the privilege of being commissioned to write songs for various projects (plays, TV pilot, Role Playing Games such as D&D, etc...) as well as the privilege of producing some of my original scripts (a short film and a musical). I love collaborating with amazing artists and bringing stories to life! If you are interested in collaborating with me or commissioning me to write for your project, you can view my previous work and contact information below.
LET'S TELL STORIES!

The Selkie Bride
In August and September of 2024, I had the first ever staged reading and fully produced production of my newest musical The Selkie Bride at The Madison Theatre. My team and I are working hard to get this show produced again in either a festival, workshop, or small venue setting in NYC. A demo album of the songs from the show is also in the works.
Based on Celtic and Nordic mythology, The Selkie Bride follows Mairi, a young selkie (half-seal, half-woman) who finds herself trapped on land, without her fur, in the midst of a storm. She falls in love with her savior, the lighthouse keeper, who also shares feelings of love. But things are never as they seem, and this struggling island may just mean the entrapment of Mairi and the selkies.
Liberty
In June of 2022, I had the privilege of producing and performing in the first staged reading of my original musical - Liberty. It tells the story of the first immigrants to pass through Ellis Island on January 1st, 1892. If you are interested in following the show's journey, you can follow @_liberty_the_musical on Instagram!

The Thoroughbred
In October of 2021, I had the privilege of producing one of my original short film scripts with The Madison Theatre.
